Honey Myrtle essential oil is an incredible rare oil that only recently became utilised in the world of essential oils. It typically grows about 2-5 metres in the wild, though when cultivated on plantations in Western Australia the maximum height averages 2 metres. The Melaleuca teretifolia shrub can be identified by its long, thin leaves and clusters of white flowers spread over long branches in late spring and summer. Honey Myrtle oil is extracted from this shrub through steam distillation of the middle and upper stem, branchlets, and leaves.
